This project set out to redesign a toaster in a steampunk style. I wanted the design to be as theatrical as possible as I felt that really represented what steampunk was about.

 

A range of designs were considered and developed using laser cut wooden gears. By creating the gears I was able to layout different designs and get a feel for how they would look. It turned out the wood was slightly scorched by the laser, this was great as it really gave the gears a steampunky feel. The final design was then rendered into a video showing how the system would work.
